Q: Can we monitor and record internet video visits
A: Absolutely. Renovo enables facilities to monitor and record all video visits as they see fit. In addition, facilities can show messages on the inmate’s and visitor’s screens, letting them know that their visit is being monitored and recorded. Moreover, Renovo’s recording system only requires the use of standard servers – meaning that it is cost effective and scalable. To save even more money, facilities can have Renovo manage their entire server environment.
Q: What can we charge for visits and do we have to charge for every visit?
A: With VisAnywhere, facilities can charge for visits as they see fit. Facilities can set up minimum free visit quotas and then charge inmates in excess of the those mandated minimums. The most important part is that the facility has a say in what the charge of the visit will be. In some areas, facilities can charge $20 because of the time it takes to get to the correctional facility, while other areas might only charge $5. The ability to set visitation charges should be an important factor in your decision.
Q:What if we still want to have face-to-face and onsite video visitation for those without computer access?
A: The key element to the Renovo visitation solution is that it doesn’t lock you into a specific type of visitation environment. While internet video visitation is a new format that will be convenient for some, your facility might still want to offer an on premise visitation option. Whether that option is face-to-face or traditional video visitation, our solution has the flexibility to manage each type with unique policies, quotas, visitation hours, and restrictions. No other system can offer such flexibility and scalability.
Q: What will the visitor need for internet video visits?

Computer Requirements:
• Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 (most PC’s introduced since 2001 meet this requirement)
• 1GB of RAM
• Internet Browser (Internet Explorer or Mozzilla Firefox)
• Web Cam
• High Speed Internet Access
• Microphone (often times built in)
15-30 minutes prior to the start of the visit, the visitor will be able to log in and click “start.” This will ready their computer and allow the visit to begin at the scheduled start time.
Q: What type of connection speed is needed to have a visit from home?
A: Renovo’s system is configurable, which gives facilities the ability to choose the minimum requirement for an internet video visitation. The lowest connection speed we recommend is 128 kilobits/s. Nearly all high speed connections can easily accomplish this.
Q: How is Renovo’s system different from other internet video visitation systems?
A: Renovo is different for several reasons. First, our solution is designed for facilities that may wany to offer a combination of face-to-face, on premise video visitation, and internet video visitation. Most facilities will not want to do 100% internet video visitation at first, but still need a single comprehensive visitation management solution that can manage their policies, quotas, restrictions as well as register and schedule visitors.
Second, Renovo is different because we use the same technology in our system that educational systems, businesses, governments, the U.S. military, and courtrooms use today!
