Orange County Correctional Facility

Orange Country Correctional Facility in Orlando, Florida, successfully deployed Renovo Software’s Video Visitation 2.5 to schedule, automate and monitor all visitation sessions on its video visitation network, which allows visitors to meet with inmates via high-quality two-way interactive video.

By reducing the amount of staff time required to transport inmates to and from a traditional visitation center, Orange County expects to save thousands of dollars every year. As an added advantage, the video visitation center eliminates the possibility of contraband entering the correctional facility during visiting hours, making it a much safer environment for Orange County’s employees and inmates.

Renovo Software’s Video Visitation 2.5 is integrated with Orange County’s Inmate Management System, resulting in completely synchronized monitoring of inmate location in the correctional facility. Video Visitation 2.5 determines the visitation station closest to an inmate and provides a schedule of availability. If an inmate is transferred to a different housing unit prior to a visitation, Video Visitation 2.5 automatically assigns a new visitation station in the correct housing unit.

Video Visitation 2.5 also makes it much easier for members of the public to schedule a visit. After coordinating a visit with a Corrections Officer at the Video Visitation Center, a visitor simply arrives at the scheduled time, presents proper identification, and – without waiting in line or being searched -- can begin the video visitation session.

Orange County Correctional Video Visitation Center is open 12 hours a day, seven days a week, with approximately 15,000 visitation sessions taking place every month.

NAVS Educational Network

Thirty-one sites in upstate New York are utilizing Renovo Software’s Video Scheduler 2.0 to schedule, control and administer their K-12 distance-learning network. Partners that enabled a mid-term switch to the MPEG 2 video over an ATM infrastructure include Verizon, Hai Vision and the Myers Group. The number of schools participating in this technologically advanced instructional delivery system is expected to grow exponentially, allowing school districts throughout New York to share, and thereby maximize, valuable resources.
