HD Video Visitation System
Renovo Awarded Contract for HD Video Visitation System
Minneapolis, June 22, 2010 – Renovo Software Corporation, a leading provider of video visitation software for the corrections industry, announced today that it has been awarded the software contract totaling $949,841.00 for a prison video visitation system at the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC).
Renovo Software will provide the Colorado State Penitentiary II in Canon City, a state-of-the-art high definition (HD) video visitation system for its new prison set to be open in September of 2010. The contract includes the delivery of high definition video visitation software codec called VisStation. VisStation contains functionality that is specifically designed for the corrections market. When the project is complete, VisStation will be deployed in over 950 kiosk stations creating the world’s largest HD video visitation systems. The system enables prisoners to have visits from kiosks within their cell eliminating labor costs for inmate movement.
In addition to VisStation, the CDOC has purchased Renovo’s VisManager Video Visitation Software, which will allow the facility to proactively manage their visitation policies, schedule, record, monitor and automate the video visitation system. The CDOC will be deploying the Public Scheduling Module allowing visitors to register and schedule visits online. The public will be able to schedule from the convenience of their homes and select a visitor center closest to their location. The CDOC plans to deploy a visitor center near the facility as well as in the greater Denver area. VisManager streamlines the video visitation process and will save the State costs associated with moving inmates.
“We’re pleased to have this opportunity to provide the CDOC a state of the art video visitation system, Tim Eickhoff, co-owner of Renovo Software, adding, “The deployment of the HD video visitation software codec along with the VisManager software will prove to be a solution that will save money and enable them to expand their solution throughout the CDOC prison system.” Tim Skaja, co-owner of Renovo Software, stated “the ability to visit from home will be inherent and ready for them to deploy when the time is right for them.”
