“In 2004 Renovo helped Kan-ed begin its statewide video services. Video networking has been available in Kansas for some time but not on a statewide basis with and not with centralized operations. The Renovo staff came to Kansas and participated in the initial set up of Kan-ed operations. They established a Scope of Work for centralizing video scheduling, developed a workable timeline and delivered per that timeline. Between April and the beginning of school in August 2004 Renovo developed and implemented a centralized video scheduling service that could handle approximately 500 licensed video codecs.

In 2005 Kan-ed approached Renovo about enhancements to the scheduling software that would improve Kansas video operations. We found Renovo was already developing such enhancements and would be glad to incorporate Kansas thinking into the process. Kan-ed staff and Renovo staff met in the spring of 2005 and software upgrades were developed and in place by the end of the year. Video scheduling personnel throughout Kansas were using the new software to schedule classes (in full mesh classrooms, mobile carts and the Kan-ed MCU) for the spring semester of 2006. Once again, Renovo developed the Scope of Work and implemented the upgrade in a timely manner for Kansas constituents.

Kan-ed continues to work with Renovo to enhance video operations. We’re currently discussing ways to use the scheduler to generate ‘impact’ reports for both the Board of Regents and the Kansas Legislature. The Renovo scheduling system and the professional services Renovo provides are valuable resources in the delivery of educational video in the State of Kansas. We thank Renovo for efforts thus far and look forward to continuing the relationship.”
